antiX light weight free OS

  1. Trying antiX at the moment.
The distribution CD is quite a bit larger than Damn Small Linux, and it seems a bit more taxing on my CD drive, as it does a lot of seeking... but I am running it in RAM without a hard drive.

I can say the positive is that it detected my video hardware and everything displays properly.
It runs pretty smoothly and has me up and online with this old Pentium-II WITHOUT a hard drive installed.

    Check it out it:

Definitely worth giving a test drive on your old P-II machine.

  2. I finally got around to doing a full hard drive install.

Without doing a long -- detailed writeup about it right now -- I can assure you that it's a Great! little operating system.

I sort of got involved with another project though.. since the time frame for upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 was running out.. and did a fresh install of Windows 7 (thats another article though)..

I'm not done with antiX yet..not by a long shot.

Expect more information about full hard drive install of antiX in the near future.

For now.. I need to get back to my little experiment.

    Later.
